Critical currents in FeAs-based pnictides and in Y123 cuprates increased by nano-sized defects

Short introduction to vortex dynamics will be followed by presentation of the critical current properties of FeAs based mate-rials and, for comparison, Y123 cuprates. The last compound is the only superconductor which can be used at liquid nitrogen temperature in high magnetic fields. We will show how to in-crease the critical current density in this compound by nano-sized defects.
