Fermi surface and superconducting properties in Rashba-type and chiral-structure compounds
prof. dr Yoshichika Onuki
University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan
Crystals generally possess mirror symmetry in the crystal structure. Some compounds, however, crystallize in non-centrosymmetric structures. Typical examples have the so-called Rashba-type and chiral structures. In these crystal structures an antisymmetric spin-orbit interaction lifts not only the charge degeneracy but also the spin degeneracy of an electron. Here we present the Fermi surface and superconducting properties of CeIrSi3 with the Rashba-type tetragonal structure, and the Fermi surface properties of TaSi2, NbSi2, and VSi2 with the hexagonal chiral structure.
