Abstract
Experimental confirmation of Bell's inequality violation, proves that there is no return to the picture painted by 19th century classical physics, where all properties of physical objects are well-defined in an objective sense, and the role of the observer amounts merele to reading out these predetermined quantities. We are forced to describe physical phenomena using quantum mechanics, where physical quantities are tightly bound to specific measurement contexts, and different measurements can be mutually incompatible. Surprisingly, such deeply philosophical aspects of quantum mechanics have their practical consequences, such as the existence of secure quantum cryptography protocols.
