Abstract:

In this talk, I discuss several aspects on the nonequilibrium skyrmion dynamics under time-periodic magnetic fields in chiral magnetic insulators. The unavoidable coupling of the external field to the surrounding magnons gives rise to a new type of time-dependent dissipation for the skyrmion, with measurable consequences on the skyrmion path. These ac fields act as a net driving force on the skyrmion via its own intrinsic magnetic excitations [1]. In addition, we generalize the standard quantum theory of dissipation to include the stochastic effects of the driven bath on the skyrmion dynamics, and provide a generalized version of the nonequilibrium fluctuation-dissipation relation for externally weakly - driven reservoirs [2]. Finally, we propose a novel platform for the generation of spin waves with controlled characteristics based on an ac-driven skyrmion-antiskyrmion bilayer which forms a topological charge dipole and emits spin waves with characteristic dipole signatures [3].
