Abstract:
Quantum phase transitions appearing in time domain are currently the topic
of intensive studies. So far, however, their empirical realization in bulk
materials is obscured by complicated quench protocols and available spectroscopic tools. We hence propose another realm for dynamical phase transitions in superconducting nanostructures, where a changeover between qualitatively distinct ground states can stem from the competition between electron pairing and the Coulomb blockade. Using the time dependent numerical renormalization group calculations we find non-analyticity points in the Loschmidt amplitude at equi-distant critical times. We discuss how to probe such critical times within different quantum quench scenarios.
