Modelling of high-temperature superconductors
prof. Peter Prelovsek
J. Stefan Institute and University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
The discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in cuprates thirty years ago represents one of the most surprising and influential discoveries in physics. It also established the physics of correlated electrons as one of major theoretical and experimental challenges. However, there is still no consensus on the theory and mechanism of high-T superconductivity. I will give a personal view on theoretical models of cuprates and their understanding, in particular with respect to their anomalous normal-state properties.
