Micromagnetic studies of pi/2 domain walls for novel nanodevices

Upon an introduction to modern problems of the domain-wall (DW) and vortex spintronics, we outline results of the micromagnetic simulations of the current-driven and field-driven dynamic of the pi/2 DWs in cubic-crystalline magnetic nanostripes and of the current-driven rotation of the pi/2-DW-containing and vortex-centered texture (of four closure domains) in a circular crystalline magnetic dot [1], [2]. The  pi/2 DWs are preferable in ultra-thin and magnetically-hard crystalline films, (layers of extremely hard while rare-earth free magnets Fe3Pt and Fe3O4 are of our especial interest). The topics of the objects under study offered by such magnetic films are a small width of the pi/2 DW (allowing for their dense packing), a large maximum velocity of the current-driven DW motion and a high DW mobility, a stability of the vortex-state oscillations (based on the propagation of the vortex-surrounding pi/2 DWs in the circumferential direction), the possibility of using the basic spin-transfer oscillator (STO) structure for an efficient generation of the pi/2 DWs in series.
