The Institute

Scientists from INTiBS PAN in the new EURAMET project

15 June 2026

We are pleased to announce that the team led by Prof. Artur Bednarkiewicz has become a partner in an international research project entitled"Metrological framework for the practical use of luminescence thermometry in healthcare" , financed within the EURAMET - The European Association of National Metrology Institutes. The project is dedicated to the development of luminescent thermometry for medical applications. The aim of the project is to establish a metrological foundation that will enable precise and reliable temperature measurement within biological tissues using modern luminescent probes.

Participation in the project will enable the co-creation of solutions that address key challenges in modern medicine, such as accurate temperature monitoring during diagnostics and therapy. Together with partners, the team will work to develop calibration methods, reference materials, and standards that will enable the implementation of this technology in clinical practice.

This is an important step towards the development of innovative medical technologies and strengthening the Institute's position in healthcare research and metrology.
