Gajowicka 95, sala seminaryjna (nowy budynek, II piętro) Some approaches to the development of inorganic materials of new generationprof. G.S. BurkhanovBaikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science, RAS, MoscowWe will report on two main approaches to creating materials of new generation, nanomaterials in the first place, and the most important details of their synthesis will be discussed. We will further discuss basic factors that have to be taken into account when creating new functional materials with defined properties, namely 1) the size, 2) impurity and 3) stability factors. Triple borides of platinum and rare earth metals will be considered as examples together with the alloys of palladium with rare earths of 1:1 and 1:3 type, and compounds with the Laves-phase structure etc.
