Zofia Mazurkiewicz and Damian Szymański's success in the MANIAC 2026 competition
We are pleased to announce the excellent results achieved by representatives of the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the MANIAC 2026 (Microscopic Art Non‑limited International Annual Contest), organized by the PhoBiA Scientific Club at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
In this year's competition:
- 2nd place went to Zofia Mazurkiewicz for her work entitled „micro gangsters attack”,
- 3rd place went to Damian Szymański for his work entitled „The Rose of Ceres”.
We sincerely congratulate the laureates and wish them continued scientific success and inspiring achievements!
The MANIAC competition combines science with an artistic perspective on the microworld, presenting images obtained using advanced microscopic techniques. In the 2026 edition, the jury evaluated a record number of entries – 153 works by 44 participants from various research centers.
