DESCRIPTIONS
The Department of Biomedical Physicochemistry, Institute of Low Temperature and Structural Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences offers the position of an assistant.
The aim of the work will be the design, synthesis and characterization of luminescent properties of nanomaterials for applications in luminescence thermometry, conversion of light to heat and phosphors with thermal memory. We are looking for a highly motivated, well-organized and conscientious candidate with experience in chemistry and optical spectroscopy.
Responsibilities:
- Synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials doped with lanthanide and transition metal ions
- Characterization of the spectroscopic properties of the obtained materials
- Measurements of spectroscopic properties of the obtained materials as a function of temperature
- Data analysis, writing reports and scientific publications
- Cooperation with scientists, purchase of equipment, support and mentoring of PhD students.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. and PhD degree in chemistry
- Experience in the synthesis of nanocrystalline materials co-doped with transition metal and lanthanide ions
- Experience in optical spectroscopy of materials doped with lanthanide and transition metal ions
Eligibility criteria:
- Enthusiasm, commitment and creativity measured, among others, by quality and number of own/reviewed publications and documented projects implemented by the Candidate
- Mobility confirmed by scholarships, research internships (especially in foreign research institutions)
- The number of citations to the Candidate's publication
- Very good skills in spoken and written English
- Unique motivation for research.

- scientific curriculum vitae, including an education and professional experience, a list of scientific achievements (scholarships, publications, patents, conference presentations, knowledge of language, etc.)
- letter of motivation
- a citation report (e.g. from Web of Science) containing the publication number, the number of citations without self-citation, the Candidate's h-index
- scans of diplomas or copies of diplomas in English or Polish (in the case of another language, a translation into English should also be attached) confirming the doctoral degree and the professional title of magister (in the case of a scientific degree obtained abroad, which is not recognized in Poland on the basis of international agreements, the candidate will apply to the Institute for its nostrification) or another document confirming the possession of a doctoral degree.
