DESCRIPTIONS
The Department of Biomedical Physicochemistry, Institute of Low Temperatures and Structural Research, Polish Academy of Sciences, is offering an assistant position.
Research task
Synthesis and investigation of the spectroscopic properties of Mn4+-doped phosphors for luminescence thermometry.
The objective of the work to be carried out will be the design, synthesis and characterization of the properties of luminescent nanomaterials for luminescence thermometry applications using transition metal ion doped materials We are looking for a highly motivated, well-organized and conscientious Candidate with experience in chemistry and optical spectroscopy. Employment for the period from December 29, 2023 to December 31, 2024.
Tasks:
- Synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials doped with lanthanide and transition metal ions
- Characterization of the spectroscopic properties of the obtained materials
- Measurement of the spectroscopic properties of the obtained materials as a function of temperature
- Analysis of data, writing reports and scientific publications
- Cooperation with scientists, purchase of equipment, support and mentoring of doctoral students.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Chemistry or materials engineering
- Experience in syntheses of nanocrystalline materials co-doped with transition metal and lanthanide ions
- Experience in optical spectroscopy of materials doped with lanthanide and transition metal ions
- Experiment in luminescence thermometry
Eligibility criteria:
- Commitment and creativity as measured, among other things, by the quality and number of own / peer-reviewed publications and documented projects carried out by the Candidate
- Mobility documented by scholarships, research internships (especially at foreign research institutions)
- Number of citations to the Candidate's / Candidate's publications
- Very good skills in spoken and written English
- Exceptional motivation for research.
