DESCRIPTION: The Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research (ILT&SR) of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw opens a contest1 for post-doc position of a co-investigator in the research project “Synthesis and characterization of multifunctional half-Heusler compounds with tunable topological quantum effects TOPOHH” (Grant of the National Science Centre no. 2021/40/Q/ST5/00066), carried out in the Division of Magnetic Research, and led by Professor Dariusz Kaczorowski, in collaboration with the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The key tasks of the post-doctoral investigator will be: determination of low-temperature electronic transport and thermodynamic properties of selected rare-earth bearing half-Heusler phases, calculation of their electronic structures, interpretation of the obtained physical data, edition of scientific publications, dissemination of results at scientific meetings, supervision of master students.

Candidates should have a PhD degree (or equivalent, recognized by Polish legislation) in physics, chemistry or materials science. The basis for evaluation will be the presented scientific CV (assessments of doctoral thesis, publications and conference presentations, scholarships, awards, participation in research projects, workshops and training courses, other relevant scientific experience). Applicants may be invited for an interview. Successful candidate should have good command of English, demonstrate proper attitude to scientific work and skills for independent problem-solving.
