The Institute of Low Temperature and Structural Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław announces a competition to fill the position of assistant professor (in polish: adiunkt) position at the ILTSR PAS in the Division of Optical Spectroscopy, contractor of the research project of the National Science Center (grant no. 2020/37/B/ST5/02399)

The contract will be concluded on a full-time basis for the period of 12 months. The remuneration under the contract will amount to approx. 5 988,59  PLN net (approx. 8 300,14   PLN gross. Detailed employment conditions will be specified in the employment contract concluded between the employed person and the Director of INTiBS PAN.

Tasks description

Synthesis of inorganic materials doped with lanthanide ions.

Measurement of the spectroscopic properties of inorganic materials doped with lanthanide ions.

Analysis of results obtained, preparation of reports, preparation of scientific publications, presentation of research results at seminars and scientific conferences.

Requirements

The candidate must meet the requirements specified in  Załącznik do uchwały Rady NCN nr 49/2020 z dnia 29 kwietnia 2020 r. w sprawie zmiany Regulaminu przyznawania środków na realizację zadań finansowanych przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki w zakresie projektów badawczych. and should:

- have a PhD degree in chemistry, physics, materials engineering or related fields.

In accordance with NCN requirements, only a person who obtained a PhD degree in an entity other than INTiBS PAN and not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project (details are contained in Project Regulations) may be accepted ;

- be fluent in English;

- be ready to start work from 2.11.2023 (including formal steps related to residence and work permit in Poland).

A candidate entering the competition should submit:

1. A diploma or a copy of the diploma in English or Polish (in the case of being issued in another language, an English translation must be attached) confirming possesion of a required doctoral degree (in the case of a degree obtained abroad, which is not recognized in Poland based on the international agreements, the candidate will apply to the Institute for its nostrification.

2. 3. Scientific Curriculum Vitae, containing information about the scientific career (education and employment), as well as information on participation in conferences, internships, projects, awards and distinctions, skills and knowledge of foreign languages.

When signing the contract, the candidate will be required to submit an authorization to inclusions in the number of employees engaged in the scientific activity at the Institute.
