DESCRIPTION:

Director of the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, PAS announces a competition for the position of assistant professor (in Polish: adiunkt) in the Division of Magnetic Research.

Responsibilities for the position include:

• performing experiemnts at millikelvin temparatures and high magnetic fields based on existing research infrastructure
• construction of new and modernization of available research stations
• implementation of innovative technological and material solutions
• analysis and interpretation of the obtained results using existing theoretical models
• dissemination of the results in the form of publications and conference presentations
• acquisition of financial resources for research from domestic and foreign entities acting for science

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• PhD degree in physical sciences, received within the last three years from this position announcement
• publications in the area of low temperature physics obtained within the last six years from the announcement
• knowledge of English at least at the B2 level

Skills:

• knowledge of unconventional superconductivity or other issues of modern low-temperature physics documented by scientific achievements
• ability to operate and experience in working with a ³He-⁴He dilution refrigerator
• experience in using cryogenic liquids
• advanced skill in use LaTex and Origin software or other measurement data processing programs
• basic experience in the crystal growth using methods such as chemical vapour transport or flux technique
• knowledge of using MATLAB, Mathematica or other tools for performing scientific calculations and creating computer simulations.

2. When signing the contract, the candidate will be required to submit an authorization to inclusions in the number of employees engaged in the scientific activity at the Institute.
