SCTE 2020 is organized by the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, Polish Academy of Sciences, that celebrated in 2016 its 50th anniversary. The Institute is known to the SCTE community mainly from its long-lasting activity in syntheses, structural and low-temperature physical characterization of novel d- and f-electron systems, which has begun from pioneering discoveries of long-range magnetic order in uranium compounds.

The conference site is the Congress Center of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, which is located on the WUST campus, in a walking distance from the main touristic attractions of the city, shopping malls, restaurants and cafeterias.
