Molecules are leading role actors in the scenario of the ′bottom-up′ approach for the elaboration of nanomaterials. Selected examples will show how Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy contributes to a better understanding of the electronic and magnetic properties of molecular materials involving multiple magnetic centers: organic and/or inorganic multispins systems of which magnetic properties will be comprehensively discussed (ground state, strength and sign of the magnetic exchange interaction). I will also offer a short trip within the EPR world as explored by our group to show the area of covered topics within this group, as a member of a national network dedicated to advanced EPR spectroscopy (RENARD network, FR 3443-CNRS).
