Transition-Metal Substitutions in Iron Chalcogenides
Valeriy Bezusyy

Substitution of impurities into the host matrix is one of the powerful methods to modify the electronic properties of superconductors. Transition metal doping into Fe-site has been a subject of many studies in case of pnictide iron-doped superconductors. On the other hand, very few investigations are reported for the other class of iron-doped superconductors, the iron chalocogenides. In this talk I will present our recent research in this area, which provides first comprehensive study of the transport properties of single crystals of iron chalcogenides, substituted with transition metals, Co or Ni, up to high impurity content. I will show that the evolution of the transport properties is consistent with the electron doping of the host matrix. In addition, the evidence of the localization effects, stronger in case of Ni impurity with larger impurity potential, is noted. The results also indicate much stronger suppression of superconductivity by Ni substitution, most likely as a result of stronger localization effects.
