Gajowicka 95, sala seminaryjna (nowy budynek, II piętro) Residual Meissner effect and other pre-pairing phenomena in the cuprate superconductorsProf. Tadeusz DomańskiInstytut Fizyki, Uniwersytet M. Curie Skłodowskiej, LublinA number of recent experiments on the cuprate superconductors have provided unambiguous evidence for the electron pairing surviving above well the critical temperature. This intriguing fact implies that formation of the electron pairs may substantially differ from onset of their long-range coherence, as evidenced by the single particle spectroscopies and the transport/magnetic measurements.I shall give a brief survey of experimental data indicating the strong diamagnetism (residual Meissner effect) due to the preformed electron pairs and shall try to discuss physical consequences of such unconventional transition to the superconducting state.
