Maksa Borna 9, sala im. J. Rzewuskiego 2024 Nobel Prize: From Physics to Deep Learning and Backdr hab. Krzysztof GraczykInstytut Fizyki Teoretycznej, Uniwersytet WrocławskiIn this presentation, we will explore the achievements of Hopfield and Hinton, whose works have been pivotal in the ongoing deep-learning revolution, culminating in their receipt of the 2024 Nobel Prize. We will provide an overview of the historical context of these accomplishments and their impact on the development of artificial intelligence models. Additionally, we will discuss how concepts from physics have played a role in advancing deep learning techniques. Lastly, we will examine how machine learning methods can assist physicists in uncovering the fundamental nature of reality. In particular, we will share insights from our recent studies on lepton-nuclei scattering.
