Wrocław Doctoral School of Institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences
Wrocław Doctoral School of Institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences (WDS IPAS) is an international and interdisciplinary doctoral school run jointly by two leading institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences based in Wrocław:
- Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, PAS (http://www.intibs.pl), and
- Hirszfeld Ludwig Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, PAS (https://www.iitd.pan.wroc.pl)
WDS IPAS provides doctoral degrees in the area of natural and exact sciences in one of three disciplines:
- physical sciences
- chemical sciences
- biological sciences
Individualised education at WDS IPAS lasts 4 years and the lectures are provided in English.
In parallel to the education programme, doctoral students carry out their doctoral thesis in accordance with the Individual Research Plans in the laboratories of the institutes that run the school. The list of topics available in a given year is published during the recruitment process.
An integral part of education and research work at WDS IPAS is foreign cooperation, including short research stays in the best foreign research centres (so-called large facilities) and trips to schools and scientific conferences.
Every WDS IPAS doctoral student receives a high scholarship for the entire period of education. A wide range of social benefits is also available.
