The Wroclaw Doctoral School of Institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences announces a special recruitment for the position of a PhD student (scholarship holder) in the research project entitled "Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites as high-sensitivity luminescent thermometers" financed by the National Science Center (grant no. 2020/39/D/ST5/01289) in the Department of Optical Spectroscopy at the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw. The aim of the project is to synthesize new formate-based luminescent organic-inorganic perovskites containing Cr3+ ions and to investigate and elucidate the mechanisms of temperature- and pressure-dependent optical processes.
Recruitment is conducted in accordance with the Rules of Recruitment to the Wroclaw Doctoral School of Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
DOCTORAL STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Synthesis of selected formate-based coordination polymers with protonated amines undoped and doped with Cr3+ions
- Structural characterization of the obtained materials
- Spectroscopic characterization in a wide temperature range (IR, Raman, emission, luminescence, luminescence decay kinetics, etc.).
- Data analysis, preparation of reports and scientific publications
- Participation in scientific conferences
EXPECTED QUALITIES/EXPERIENCE OF THE CANDIDATE
- Master's degree in chemistry, physics, or a related disciplines
- Experience in physics/chemistry of solids, optics, spectroscopy, knowledge of instrumentation, spectroscopic techniques and software (Office, Origin)
- Good knowledge of English
- Enthusiasm, motivation for scientific work, independence, ability to work in a team, creativity

SCHOLARSHIP
The PhD scholarship (36 months) will be financed from the funds of the National Science Center from the budget provided in the Project for the doctoral salary of 4000 PLN/month (gross-gross, up to the month of the mid-term evaluation of the doctoral student at the doctoral school) and 4200 PLN (gross-gross, after the month of the mid-term evaluation of a doctoral student at a doctoral school). The last 12 months will be financed by the Wroclaw Doctoral School of Institutes of Polish Academy of Sciences.
