Density of states and pseudogap in high-TC superconductors; local pairing model and ARPES results

prof. Andrei L. Solovjov

Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering, National Academy of Science of Ukraine, Kharkov, Ukraine

In spite of the high interest in HTS's study and a huge amount of papers devoted to this problem, the superconducting pairing mechanism resulting in high superconducting transition temperatures still remains controversial. At present, it is believed that the answer can be revealed, by studying unusual phenomenon such as pseudogap (PG) which occurs in the slightly doped Cuprates and FeAs-based superconductors at T>>Tc. The connection between PG and density of states at the Fermi level will be presented. The comparison of the PG results from different experiments in a real space with those obtained in a momentum space by means of ARPES will be shown.
